It’s my favorite time of the year again… holiday card season, of course!  I just love opening our mailbox to find pictures and updates from all the special people in our life!  I equally enjoy creating our own cards… I could sit and flip through websites and photos all day long, trying to decide what I want to do!

Last year I had so much fun putting this post together with 100 Photos to Inspire Your Holiday Cards.  Lots of creative pictures in that post from photographers and bloggers all over the world!

This year I am sharing 30 new photos with 30 new wordings, but this time I also searched for a matching card with that sentiment.  I decided that even though last year’s post was so fun and helped inspire your photos, you still had to spend a lot of time searching for a card with that wording on it!  So even though this post is smaller, I hope it will still be inspiring and perhaps even more helpful since I have linked to a card that might work for each theme.  I’m hoping that the wordings will be just as inspiring as the photos themselves to give you some new ideas!

I mostly searched at Minted and Tiny Prints since they are my two favorite places to order holiday cards, and I know their quality is outstanding.  Minted made it particularly easy to search by theme since they even had it broken down into sections.  For example:

RECENTLY MOVED?

Search these Holiday Moving Announcements!

I especially loved these:

Santa Has a New Stop (perfect for a new baby, too!)

New Home, New Adventures, Near Year

Season’s Greetings From (Insert City/State) with a US Map (shown below)

RECENTLY MARRIED?

Search these Newlywed Holiday Cards!

I especially loved these:

Have Yourself a Married Little Christmas

Ring in the New Year

Married & Bright (shown below)

You could even send a card that doubles as a Christmas ornament.  What a perfect way to help those you love remember your wedding day!

BABY’S FIRST CHRISTMAS?

Search these New Baby Holiday Cards!

I especially loved these:

We Traded Silent Nights for a Bundle of Joy

The Greatest Gift of All

Best. Year. Ever. (shown below)

You could even send a card that doubles as an ornament to help those you love remember your baby’s first Christmas!

CAN’T FIND A CARD WITH THE WORDING YOU WANT?

Sometimes no matter how hard we search, we can’t find exactly what we want.  If you aren’t finding the perfect card, try adding the text yourself at a place like PicMonkey (it’s a free site) or using Skitch (a free program you download to your computer).  I use both of these options all the time—that’s how I create collages and add my watermark to photos see you see on my site.  You could then print it yourself or upload the card you created at a site like Wishing Tree Designs (as I showed you here where I created my daughter’s first birthday party invitations).  Cardstore is another great place to create your own cards.

You could also look for cards that allow you to change the text so the sentiment is exactly what you want it to be.  For example, this card, this card, and this card over at Minted all allow you to change the text.  Many of Minted’s cards also allow you to drag the text around so it sits in just the right spot.  That’s why I ordered from them last year (see my family’s card here).  I am a huge Minted fan!!

THE PERFECT PICTURE IS OFTEN IMPERFECT

As for the pictures, you’ll see below that most of these shots were not taken by a professional.  You can send a fun and fantastic card even if you do everything yourself!  Remember that the whole point of sending cards is to spread some holiday cheer and to let those special people in your life know that you are thinking of them and wishing them well.  You want the people opening your card to smile as they think of you, and that means your photo can be a complete disaster but still be wonderful!  For example, this card would be perfect even when your photo is not:

All is Calm-ish and Bright (you can place a halo over each child’s head)

… and now, on to the photos!

IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR

MERRY KISS-MAS!

HAPPY FOOTBALL-IDAYS!

While I couldn’t find a card with this exact sentiment, I did find this cool mini-book style football card that would allow you to have a page for each child with updates, etc.  It’s meant to be a graduation announcement for a football player, but since you can change all the text, it would make a great holiday card, too, for a football-loving family!

I am using football here as an example, but you could use any “ball” sport in a heading like this:  baseball, basketball, softball, etc… You could also go with “Hockey Holidays!” if your family loves ice hockey or field hockey.

If you don’t want to use a mini-book style card, you could also use a card like this or this where you can change the wording so it fits your sport, or use any sentiment you choose!

IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE

If you recently welcomed twins, this card with “OUR CHRISTMAS IS TWICE AS NICE” would also be a good fit!

WE TRIPLE-DOG-DARE YOU TO HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Not surprisingly, I couldn’t find a card with this exact sentiment, but you could use a card like this and change the text if you choose to reenact this classic photo!  So creative!!

ALL WE WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A SILENT NIGHT!

MAKING SPIRITS BRIGHT

Make the holidays special this year with a personalized children's book or other special gift from I See Me!

BEST. YEAR. EVER.

WISHING YOU PICTURE PERFECT HOLIDAYS!

While I couldn’t find the perfect card with this sentiment in the design, you can use this card which allows you to change the wording!  I tested it out, and “Wishing You Picture Perfect Holidays!” fits just fine if you reduce the font size.  :)

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH!

Just like the photo above, I didn’t have luck finding a card with this exact sentiment, but you could use this card that allows you to change the wording!  The font is cute because it’s “imperfect” like a child’s writing, so it would work well with a picture like this.  I tested it out and the wording fit perfectly if I just reduced the font size a bit (you can also drag the artistic line they have added over to the right so it sits at the end of your sentiment).  Adorable!

ALL IS CALM-ISH AND BRIGHT

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment.  It actually features a halo that you can drag to look like it’s hovering over each child’s head.  Cute!  :)  This card would be a great fit for any photo session that went awry!

REJOICE! FOR UNTO US A CHILD WAS BORN

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment.  The card actually says “… a Savior is born…” but you can change the text if you’d like.

Photo tip:  This cradle was my doll cradle as a little girl.  I put my newborn daughter in it and placed it near a sunny window to get this shot.  I actually took a similar picture of her one year later, and it’s so funny in comparison to see how she’s exploding out of the cradle at twelve months!  They grow so fast that first year!

SANTA HAS A NEW STOP

PERFECT TO DOUBLE AS A MOVING ANNOUNCEMENT, TOO!

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment.  I think this is so cute for a baby’s first Christmas or if you have recently moved.

This card with the saying “DEAR SANTA, PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR LIST” would be cute for a picture like this as well.

Photo Tip:  When I took this picture of my daughter, I put a toy she likes up on the mantle.  She was looking up toward the lights and music… easy enough to get this shot!

WHO NEEDS SANTA WHEN WE HAVE GRANDPARENTS?

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment.  (Please note that the card is designed to say “I” instead of “We.”  You can simply change that as you’re personalizing your card if you have more than one grandchild.)

HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

LOVE, PEACE, JOY & LITTLE KISSES

BABY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE!

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment.

Photo tip:  I was trying to capture a shot of my daughter in her new hat (I ordered it from this cute Etsy shop called Emma’s Cozy Attic), but I couldn’t get her to sit still.  So I grabbed the wreath off my front door and stuck her in it!  Voila!  She was “stuck” and couldn’t crawl toward me anymore!  :)

BEST GIFT EVER

OH WHAT FUN!

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment.  I love this photo idea below, especially for older kids who may not be thrilled about having their picture taken.  This family made their own props… their mom said they were actually quite cooperative as she snapped this picture, perhaps because they felt some control over what they got to do!  :)

… AND TO ALL, A GOOD NIGHT

HAVE YOURSELF A MARRIED LITTLE CHRISTMAS

HAPPY HOWLIDAYS!

Click here to find the card I created below to show you as an example.  You upload a picture of your dog, and then it’s made to look as if he/she has reindeer antlers!  Love it!

SPARKLE AND SHINE

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment.

My daughter is wearing a dress here that was made from one of my Dad’s old shirts.  It was a gift from my parents, and she was able to wear it for her first Christmas.  I was a puddle of emotion when I opened it… so special!  They had it made by Jessica of little grey line.  What an amazing idea to take something old and give it new meaning to create a family heirloom!  This year she is still able to wear it with leggings as a tunic… perfect!

WARM HOLIDAY WISHES

CHEERS TO YOU & YOURS!

DEAR SANTA, DEFINE “NICE”

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment.  This card would be great to use if you have a funny picture of your child(ren) misbehaving or if your attempt to take pictures doesn’t go well!  :)  Another option could be this card with the wording “NAUGHTY IS THE NEW NICE.”

Land Of Nod: Design for Kids and People That Used to be Kids

HOLD ON TO THE MAGIC

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment.  This photo was taken when my kids were spreading their “reindeer food” on Christmas Eve.  Find the “recipe” for reindeer food with a poem I wrote to go with it here.  It’s an adorable Christmas Eve tradition, and it makes for a perfect holiday party favor or school project.  I have gone into my kids’ classrooms (preschool – 3rd grade) as a parent volunteer and made reindeer food many times.  The kids always love it!

DREAM BIG IN 2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Click here to find the perfect card with this sentiment… there are many options, obviously, with “Happy New Year”, but I loved this card because it’s pressed with real foil.  There is a beautiful shimmer to it, and I thought that was very fitting for a New Year’s card!

Photo tip:  These numbers were cut from a shimmery poster board (somewhat thicker than regular paper) using an X-acto knife.  You could use the numbers for many years; you just need to cut a new number for the last digit!  A photo like this could become a tradition to kick off the new year!

Okay, my friends, that’s all I’ve got…  I hope you’re feeling inspired to start working on that holiday card!

Enjoy this very special season!
